M+ Online Head of Research, Loui Low has hosted another session for the weekly session. Here below are some of the key highlights of the session.

He started on some key takeaways on the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting that was held on 6th of May. He brought up some of the key topics such as:

1. De-dollarization
2. Huge cash pile of USD130bn in Berkshire
3. Warren Buffett is “not done” with Japan
4. WB and CM still skeptical on AI
5. Berkshire’s portfolio on Apple and Occidental Petroleum

Some of the ideas that have transpired within this segment for the US markets include:

Technology: SPY, QQQ, AAPL
Japan-exposure: EWJ, SCJ
Energy: OXY, XLE
Bursa Malaysia: ARMADA, YINSON, T7GLOBAL

The other agenda for the session include (i) Apple post results review, (ii) banking crisis, (iii) recovery theme, as well as the (iv) firm gold price which is trading above the USD2000 zone amid the uncertain environment.
