According to a report by CCTV on June 28 local time, a senior US official revealed that the US and Iran have agreed to cease attacks on each other and plan to hold a meeting in the Qatari capital on June 30 to resolve the dispute over the Strait of Hormuz.

Another U.S. official said that the U.S. and Iran would "temporarily" cease hostilities, and that "ships can freely pass through" the Strait of Hormuz while technical talks continue. U.S. officials and other sources familiar with the matter confirmed that the U.S. and Iran plan to hold a meeting on the 30th.

However, as of now, neither the US nor Iran, nor the mediators in the current US-Iran negotiations, Pakistan and Qatar, have issued any official statements. (CCTV reporter Zhao Miao)
