The Trump administration believes that Apple The company can and should move its global iPhone manufacturing infrastructure to the U.S., but analysts doubt the company would consider such an attempt anytime soon. But even with greater diversification, nearly all of the components inside an iPhone are still made outside the U.S. Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives said in a report Tuesday that if the iPhone were made in the U.S., the price would likely be around $3,500, compared with $1,000 today, under the administration’s plan to use huge tariffs to try to force companies to move manufacturing back to the U.S. “If U.S. tech companies face this reality, it will have a negative impact on the tech landscape for decades to come,” Ives wrote.
